Clean Dzongkhag Award!!! |

Paro Dzongkhag received an award for clean Dzongkhag along with Sarpang and Tashigang Dzongkhags on 8th, January, 2008. Dasho Dzongrab, Dzongkhag Environment Officer and the Municipal Engineer of Paro Dzongkhag received the award on behalf of the Dzongkhag.
A prize ngultrum of 150,000 along with the certificate of clean Dzongkhag was awarded by Lyonpo Nado Rinchen, National Environment Commission.
The clean Dzongkhag award’s aim is to encourage cleanliness and better solid waste management within the Dzongkhags.
In line with these objectives Paro Dzongkhag has taken this concept a step further and is striving towards a cleaner environment where all residents can live in harmony with nature and the environment.
Paro Dzongkhag has focused on environmental conservation during the ninth five year plan (2002 to 2007), as environment conservation would lay the foundation for a green environment which would ensure clean water and clean air for all.
Every week on Friday evening, the staff of the Dzongkhag Administration cleans the vicinity of Rinpung Dzong, Nemezampa area till town. The Staff of the Municipal Office carries out cleaning of the town every day with the help of the town representatives and the residents.
Paro Dzongkhag has been actively involved in Mass Cleaning Campaigns involving the local Agencies, Organization, Hoteliers and the local residents to make Paro a clean Dzongkhag.
