DOPSHARI GEWOG PROFILE.
Dopshari Gewog has a total area of 36.7 Sq.Km of which 7456.5 acres are covered by forest and it lies in the South of the Dzongkhag. The gewog shares the gewog boundary with Shaba gewog in the North and Naja gewog in the South; in the West it shares Dzongkhag boundary with Haa Dzongkhag in the East, Thimphu Dzongkhag in the West and Chukha Dzongkhag in the Southwest and National boundary with China in the North.
The Gewog consists of 7 Chewogs, namely Jesigang, Juka, Jangsa, Shari, Kempa, Kotiphu and Dushi Zipa. The Gewog has a total of 299 households.
About 84% of the households have piped drinking water facility while 100% have electricity connections. A Livestock Extension Center (LEC), Agriculture Extension Center (AEC), provides extension services in the gewog. Health and medical facilities are provided by Paro District Hospital.

In the gewog wetland cultivation is the dominant agricultural land use followed by dry lands which are used mostly as apple orchards. The principal crops grown are paddy, wheat, barley and potato. Apple and potato is the most important cash crop grown in the gewog which are exported to India and Bangladesh. Livestock rearing is an important economic activity and farmer’s income is supplemented through the sale of dairy products.
