GEWOG PROFILE.
Tsento Gewog has a total area of 575.1 Sq.Km of which 146037 acres are covered by forest and it has an elevation ranging from 2,000 to 5,210 meters above the sea level. The gewog lies in the North of the Dzongkgag. The gewog shares its boundary with Doteng gewog in the East and in the South with Lamgong gewog. The gewog also shares the Dzongkhag boundary with Haa Dzongkhag in the west, in north with Thimphu Dzongkhag and National boundary with China in the Northwest.
The Gewog consists of 14 Chewogs, namely Shoe, Yaksha, Phungdo, Tsentoshari, Nyme, Chinjo, Chunju, Zamsa, Benjo, Missi, Jutsephu, Shana and Junitsha. The Gewog has a total of 332 households.
About 98% of the households have piped drinking water facility and over 100% households have electricity connections. The gewog has 6 km of farm road which provides access to the gewog. A Livestock Extension Center (LEC), Agriculture Extension Center (AE0), provides extension services in the gewog. Health and medical facilities are provided by the Outreach clinic (ORC).

In the Tsento gewog the agricultural land use are dominated by wetland followed by dry land cultivations. In the wetland they mostly grow paddy and wheat; dry lands are mainly for apples. In livestock Yak and local cattle dominate the livestock population.
