World Environment Day, 5th June, 2009 |

On 5th, June, 2009, the World Environment Day was observed under Paro Dzongkhag by means of mass tree plantation.
Dasho Dzongdag, Dasho Drangpon, Dasho Dzongrab, Dzongkhag Administration Staff and the Judiciary staff participated on the day by planting seedlings below the Ta-Dzong and below the road areas. The objective of such plantation was to rehabilitate the barren area and maintain greenery in the areas. A total of about 500 seedlings over a total area of one acre were planted on the day.
Dasho Dzondag briefed the participants that each individual must take care of their own seedlings and the overall responsibility of constant monitoring of the planted seedlings was entrusted to the Forestry Sector.
Refreshments and lunch was provided to the participants on the day.
