The 30th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty The King

The 30th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty The King was celebrated at the Ugyen Pelri Palace ground in Paro Dzongkhag. The Chief Guest for the occasion His Excellency, the Honourable Minister, Ministry of Home and Economic Affairs, Lyonpo Khandu Wangchuk was received at the Palace gate by Dzongda, Dzongrab, Gups and Sector Heads of the Dzongkhag Administration in a Chipdrel Procession.

The Chief Guest was accompanied by the Members of the Parliament, Dasho Chencho Dorji and Dasho Ugyen Tshering of Paro Dzongkhag.

Hundreds of people gathered to witness the Birth Day Celebration of His Majesty at the Ugyen Pelri Palace ground.

The momentous occasion started with the speech from the Chief Guest on the importance of such a day in the lives of the Bhutanese people.

. He said we are lucky to have been born a Bhutanese.

The Chief Guest and the Public paid homage and deep appreciation for the unprecedented peace and prosperity the Wangchuck Dynasty has bestowed to all the Bhutanese people.

The RBP personnel’s and the students of Paro Dzongkhag performed the March past and the students from various schools, Dzongkhag mask dancers and Dzongkhag dancers also presented to the gathering a variety of cultural programs which added more fun to the festive occasion.

And on the very day towards afternoon when His Majesty walked on the Palace ground, the Public gathered on the day was happy beyond their means.

Little did they expect His Majesty to join the celebration with them. His Majesty witnessed few cultural programs presented by the students and when His Majesty himself joined the dances, the public gathered could not believe their eyes seeing His Majesty dancing to the tunes and carrying out each and every step of the dances and enjoying them thoroughly.

It was a treat to the eyes of the spectators. His Majesty also moved around and talked with the public and indeed the people of Paro Dzongkhag were lucky.

The day came to an end with Trashi-Lebay and when finally His Majesty left the Palace ground the People of Paro Dzongkhag could not have been more satisfied and happier.

The Birth Day Celebration this year at Paro Dzongkhag was a huge success and everyone gathered on the day had prayers for continuation of such joyous occasion.
