The Annual Paro Tsechu (26th March to 30th March, 2010) |

Tshechu is an annual event in every Dzongkhag. In Paro Dzongkhag, the annual Tsechu started on 26th March coinciding with the 11th day of the second Bhutanese month and concluded on 30th March, the 15th day of the second Bhutanese month with the unfurling of the Thongdrel Chenmo in the early hours of the morning.
Paro Tsechu is known far and wide for its sacredness and people from all over Bhutan make it a point to attend Paro Tsechu to receive blessings from the sacred treasures, the cymbal obtained from Nub-tsho-na-pata and the Thongdrel Chenmo.
The first day of the Tsechu was held inside the Dzong courtyard and the remaining 4 days was held outside the Dzong at Deyangkha.
His Majesty the King graced the final day of the Paro Tshechu. After offering the prayers, His Majesty the King joined the crowd to witness the mask dances and cultural performances of the day.
Their Royal Highnesses, Princess Eeuphelma Choden Wangchuck and Prince Ugyen Jigme Wangchuck accompanied His Majesty the King.
Thousands of people gathered to witness the Tsechu with the maximum gathering on the final day of the Tsechu.
