The recent flood on 25th and 26th May, 2009 has damaged and washed away 9 suspension bridges, 13 cantilever bridges, totally washed away 2 bailey bridges and partially damaged a RCC bridge.

11 irrigation channels and 15 irrigation intakes were damaged, 16 farm roads were damaged at various intervals and 3 feeder roads were also damaged at various intervals.

4 paddy fields were washed away, 8 paddy fields were flooded and 10 Crop (like chili, potato, paddy and wheat) fields were flooded.

6 river embankments were washed away at various intervals on both sides.

A hut was washed away partially and the Dantak camp was flooded. 3 Drinking water supply sources and infrastructures were also damaged under Paro Dzongkhag.

A total of 207 casualties (a lady, 110 cattles, 73 yaks, 22 horses and 1 mule were washed away)were reported to the Dzongkhag Administration till now.

Immediate and necessary actions were taken by the Dzongkhag Administration.

Restoration works for the flood affected areas are still under progress.

The Dzongkhag Administration is still awaiting reports from the remote villages.
