Brief Background on the Institute:

A premise of Taju Primary School was originally the reminiscent of TTC’s staff quarter in the mid seventies, later, proposal of opening small community school at Taju village came up during the beginning of 9th five year plan. With much difficulties and hurdles over acquiring the land, then TTC’s living quarter area at Taju village area was allocated for construction of two six unit classroom blocks.

On 22nd February 2005, 135 boys and 118 girls totaling to 253 with eight teachers and a head teacher got segregated from Rinpung Primary School, Paro and moved to Taju area to establish Taju Primary School as a new school in the Dzongkhag. From 2009 onwards, school’s strength increased to more than 500 students in spite of limited space and with 23 teachers and four non teaching staff on the roll.
